  • Florida 2008

    OU Winter Break!!!

    Mick and I flew to Florida to visit Becky and Jerry during the OU winter break. Despite a few cool days, we enjoyed lots of sunshine and mostly warm weather. I did some professional development for the Collier County School District and also got to visit Becky's classroom and the music classroom at her school. Hope you enjoy the pics - some are from Becky's classroom, some from our walk in a park in the Everglades, and some from our day of boating around the islands just along the shore of the Gulf. Good times.

  • Updating...

    My mom needs to update more, so I am writing a post for her...really just because I just redesigned this.

    Today she found out one of her articles will be getting published, so thats good...she's been writing a lot of them lately for tenure track.

    She is going to Italy (with me!) next summer for another music educators conference. So far, she's been to Hong Kong and Japan twice each (I think, it's hard to keep track), Kuala Lampur in Malasia, Spain, and England within the past 3 years!

    I added her into the blogring MENC. And really spiffed up her blog. I set it up in the first place and miraculously remembered her password. Yeah, she probably won't even notice for quite awhile!

  • Mick's Bday Winery Tour Up North

    Mick and I had a fabulous time wining and dining our way through Old Mission Point peninsula. We had great food, lots of different wines, a wine/appetizer tour with 9 different wine and food pairings along with winery info (very fun), spectular views, beautiful sunsets, an evening of live jazz, all with incredible accommodations.

  • Up North to Traverse!

    Mick and I are going here for our mini getaway in August - for his 55th birthday present. It's a B&B on the premises of a winery - so we'll be wining and dining in luxury and enjoying the beautiful scenery of northern Michigan. Can't wait. :)   See www.chateauchantal.com

  • PAUL SIMON

    Mick and I had a mini getaway! He met me in the OU area, we had a great dinner at Papa Vino's (including sharing a piece of really good turtle cheesecake), then we went to the Paul Simon concert at the Fox Theatre. It was FAABBBULOUS!!! Two hours of non-stop music except for the many standing ovations. It was SO fun - something we really needed!!! Then, instead of driving home at midnight in two cars, we stayed in a hotel near OU, were able to sleep in and then enjoy the complimentary breakfast. I left for work around 10am and got there 5 minutes later. YAY!! No commute today!!

    We have found a wonderful house on Oxford - only a 20 minute commute for me. Now if we can just sell our house, we may be able to make all our long term plans a reality. Things are looking up. :)
